The future of the Three
Cups revealed
Preliminary revised plans for the former Three Cups Hotel
unveiled at a public consultation.
P
LANS for shops, flats,
residential units,
lodges, a wellness
centre and parking have
been unveiled for the
former Three Cups site.
The preliminary revised
plans for the Broad Street
hotel and wider site were
revealed at a public
consultation event held by
local developers Cobb
View Homes and the main
site owner Palmers
Brewery.
More than 100 people
attended the consultation
event at Lyme Regis
Football Club, eager to see
the plans for the Grade II
listed building, which has
stood empty for more than
35 years.
The proposals by Cobb
View Homes for the
redevelopment of the
original building fronting
Broad Street broadly
follow the scheme for
which planning approval is
already in place.
This will involve the
ground floor being
converted into two shops
with flats above and a
number of residential units
to the rear, all of which are
designed with parking.
The rear part of the site is
being retained by Palmers
Brewery, who now propose
the construction of 13
high-quality letting single
storey 8lodges9, together
with a small wellness
centre and eight car
parking spaces.
This replaces the
previously approved
scheme of a restaurant,
underground car park and
a three-storey building
with 12 letting rooms.
A new planning
application will be
required for the rear area
scheme, but it is hoped
only a modification to the
existing approval will be
needed for the alterations
to the front section.

Palmers9 property agent,
