T
HE therapeutic effects of
gardening were enjoyed
by those in Lyme Regis living
with Parkinson’s.
Members of the Lyme Regis
District Parkinson’s Support
Group visited the Sculptures
by the Lakes near Dorchester,
in a change from their
monthly sessions at the
Powerboat Club.
The visit was inspired by the
success of the award-winning
Parkinson’s UK’s show garden,
A Garden for Every
Parkinson’s Journey, at the
RHS Chelsea Flower Show,
which highlighted the
powerful benefits of spending
time outdoors for people
living with Parkinson’s.
The group of 16 garden
lovers and two dogs
enjoyed a peaceful day in
Dorset’s only botanic
garden, which includes a
collection of more than
1,000 trees and shrubs and
gifts and artworks by local
artists in the Makers’ Yard and
The Gallery.
