LymeLiving - The Lyme Regis Town Council Magazine
WHERE IS IT LYME REGIS?
HINK you know Lyme
T Regis like the back of
your hand? Now9s your chance
to put that knowledge to the
test.
In our August edition, we
shared an ammonite
8pavement9.
The ammonites can be found
outside Lyme Regis Museum. It
is an artificial decorative
feature made of cast Coade
stone, rather than a real
natural fossil bed.
Coade stone is a durable,
artificial ceramic stone
invented by Eleanor Coade.
Coade stone was used in the
refurbishment of Buckingham
Palace, and closer to home, at
Belmont House.
Can you guess where this is?
LOCAL
The real 8ammonite pavement9
can be found on the western
end of Monmouth Beach.
This feature is a fun challenge
designed to get you looking a
little closer at the details that
make our town so special.
Can you guess where this
interesting ship door knocker
and cluster of shells is
located?
All you have to do is ask
yourself: Where is it?
Take a guess, chat about it
with your friends and family
and see if you can solve the
mystery before the answer is
revealed in the next edition.
Happy hunting, and keep
your eyes open.

BUSINESS
SUPPORTS
WELCOME CAFE
LYME Regis business is helping local
A residents to socialise, enjoy activities
and spend time in good company.
Fordhams is supporting the Welcome Café,
hosted at Lyme Regis Football Club, which
provides a space for residents to come
together and enjoy a pot of afternoon tea
with homemade cakes.
The group offers a friendly and relaxed
setting and meets on the third Wednesday of
the month, from 2pm to 3.30pm.
Fordhams provided the Welcome Café with
some much-needed new teapots, ensuring
there will be plenty more cups of tea to
come at future gatherings.
The new teapots were put to good use when guests marked the 98th birthday of
regular attendee Lilian Bagnall.
Sandwiches and homemade cakes were served, with Lilian9s milestone birthday
providing the perfect opportunity to put the brightly coloured new teapots to use.
