SPIRIT OF
FOLK
RETURNS TO
LYME REGIS
OLKmusic filled Lyme Regis for bank holiday weekend
F BIG names in British folk music returned to Lyme
Regis for the annual Lyme Regis Folk Weekend.
The festival brought four days of live music to the town,
with free performances and traditional dancing creating a
lively atmosphere along the seafront, alongside ticketed
concerts at the Marine Theatre.
This year’s line-up included Eliza Carthy and friends
celebrating the extraordinary musical legacy of her father,
Martin Carthy, an English folk legend.
Eliza was joined on stage by Tim Van Eyken, Angeline
Morrison, Nick Hart and Finn Curran-Carthy.
The Sandy Denny Project also took to the stage, celebrating
the much-loved singer-songwriter’s catalogue of music,
while festival patrons Ninebarrow returned for another of
their collaborative evenings, joined by Honey and The Bear
and Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll.

The festival also welcomed back Bob Whitley and Lee
Mackenzie with Ophelia, their latest combination of
storytelling and live music, exploring the tragic story
of Shakespeare’s Hamlet and Ophelia.
